There was much literary importance of this prompt, in that it describes Caesar and what his actual intentions as a leader might have been. It is very obvious in the play that Caesar wants a lot more than just to rule over Rome. He may have some plans of which no one is aware and they may not be in the best interest of the city. I the play, apparently Cassius realizes this and wants Brutus to do something about it. Cassius believes that Brutus is a person who is well enough liked so that he can over come the power of Caesar.
There is no doubt that Caesar hasn't done some good things for the city, such as send them money or help them to solve many problems. However, there isn't much confidence in the way he is going about things now that he has the power and is doing as he is supposed to. There is a point in the life of anyone in complete control, as Caesar is, when he wants more than he should be asking for. In this case, he has supposedly stopped thinking about the good of the city and is now thinking more towards himself and his children.
As far as the idea of many suspecting that Caesar wanted to set up a monarchy so that power could pass to his heirs as well, no one really knows that for sure. Although, just the suspicions alone can persuade people into not wanting that type of plan to the good of the people. The people should be grateful for all of the things that Caesar has done for them, but at the same time, they should be looking ahead to see if more of those good deeds and going to keep coming to them.
Throughout the beginning of this play, I have seen how Cassius has such strong opinions about Caesar. This leads me to believe that nothing good will be coming out of what Caesar is planning. Brutus is the one that has the power and control to do something about the future of Caesar's control. Cassius is trying very hard to make him realize what exactly he has in for himself. I think that this was a smart idea on Cassius's part in that he may be the one that is actually looking out for the good of the city and the people. Some may think that Cassius is just trying to get his way because he doesn't like Caesar, but he may have some good intentions behind the whole idea.
