Amanda Marsilio's Anotated Book List

White Fang by Jack London

I read this book at the start of sixth grade. This was a very heart warming story about a lonely wolf and a boy. They go on a journey together and overcome many obsticals. There were ups and downs in the book, but in the end the story has a lot of meaning.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This was a good example of the issue of predudice. There were many racial disputes, but it was also involved with growing up. This book brings you to the realization of what an effect of predudice can have on people.

Dolories Claiborne by Stephen King

I read this book when I was in eightth grade. This was a mystery, but it was also very gorey. It is about a family who doesn't have a good relationship with each other. There if some abuse and molestation that goes on. Eventually, there is killing, the typical Stephen King novel. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat at all times. I found it a worth while reading.

Misery by Stephen King

This too was another typical Stephen King book. It involves a writer and his biggest fan who ends up taking control of him. She gets mad and takes everything into her own hands. This is a very discusting book which some people may not be able to handle. I read it in eightth grade, but it may be more suitable for an older audience.

A Seperate Peace by John Knowles

This is the kind of book that may relate to a real life situation. A boy goes back to his old school and startes to remember his childhood. There was a perfect kid and many were gealous of him. This created some problems which became very complex in the end.

Lord Of The Flies byWilliam Golding

This was a good book for adventure. There were a whole bunch of kids stranned on an island. It was interesting to find out how they survived in that environment, when they had been nursed by their parents all their lives. It was surpising to see what it really came down to.

The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier

Diana, Her True Story byAndrew Morton

I read this around the time that the whole Princess Diana crises was going on so it was something pretty up to date to read about. This really explained the public and private side of her. It showed how even though Diana looked perfect on the outside, she really had many problems within her own home.

Death Be Not Proud by John Gunther

Goodbye Doesn't Mean Forever by Lurlene McDaniel

Stillwatch by Mary Higgins Clark

This book was a very female dominated book, where the mystery was all about one women. She goes to investigate what really happened in some event when she was a young kid. She had been told many stories, but she wanted to find out for herself. It was different, but it does keep you on the edge of your seat.

Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salenger

This was about a very confused boy who went through his life with many strange things happening to him. Many criminals are known to read this book because it relates to a lot of people's lives and there is always something that you can find having to do with your own life.
